April first, I've always felt, is an appropriate time for a county assembly; and I happened by the local minority party's, where I was almost immediately appointed Parlimentarian.  It's a job I rather enjoy because I am able to tell candidates for National and State offices when to shut up and control the endless discussion regarding resolutions.
For a party with absolutely no county candidates and little prospect of having much influence, the county's minority party is a grand little group of about forty or fifty "activists:" most fired by a single issue; in the case of most: eminent domain.
The proceedings lasted some four hours and were punctuated by visits from future congressmen and state secretaries.  Is there something they'll tell us with which we could disagree?
